Research

PhD project: Trust dynamics in interaction
Trust is widely acknowledged as an important concept in everyday life, in relations of cooperation, and spatial planning. Although the importance of trust in planning it has hardly been studied. During this research project trust dynamics are studied as a mechanism in relations between people and organisations in planning processes. Supervision by Prof. dr. ir. Cees Leeuwis (Communication Science), Prof. dr. Noelle Aarts (Communication Science), dr. ir. Raoul Beunen ( Land use planning group).

Recreation and sustainable tourism
Balancing recreation and nature values is an important issue in the management of forest and nature areas as these areas are not only home to (endangered) species and habitats but (intensively) used as recreation areas as well. The Land use planning group has a long standing reputation on monitoring, and studying recreation in rural areas and nature areas. More information about recreation and sustainable tourism can be found here.
